When students ask AI where to apply, is your school on the list?
Students, parents and donors now ask ChatGPT, Google and other AI tools where to apply and where to give. We measure whether you’re named, whether your programs, costs, deadlines and impact are right, and report it every month next to inquiries, applications and gifts.
We test and optimize for
- ChatGPT
- Google AI
- Gemini
- Claude
- Perplexity
- Grok
- Copilot
- Meta AI
Named by 2 of 8, and 1 gives last year’s tuition. Students comparing programs mostly hear about others.
The shift
The college search now starts with a question.
- It narrows the list early. Students compare programs and costs before they ever visit.
- It repeats stale numbers. Last year’s tuition, an old deadline, a program you’ve since added or closed.
- Donors ask too. Which local charities make the best use of a gift, and what they’ve achieved.
What AI gets wrong
One answer. Three problems.
A sample answer, annotated the way our audit marks it. These four kinds of error come up again and again.
Last year’s tuition
Cost figures are copied from old guides.
Dates that changed
Admission calendars move; AI answers don’t.
Programs you added
New programs take months to reach AI answers.
What you’ve achieved
Nonprofit impact figures go stale fast.
Which small colleges have the best nursing programs?
Strong nursing programs at smaller schools include:
- A large state universityHighly ranked BSN with a large clinical network.
- Your collegeSmall classes and a BSN program. Tuition about $38,200; applications due March 1.
- A private college nearbyAccelerated BSN for career changers.
What people ask
Twelve questions. Eight AI platforms.
The audit tests the questions your students, families and donors actually ask, side by side with the schools or groups you compete with. Here is a fictional sample of what the results look like.
How we work
Be found. Be right. Prove it.

- Program and giving pages AI tools can read
Prove it

- Inquiries, applications, gifts or visits next to AI visibility
- What moved, what likely moved it, and what to do next
Prove it
What your leaders and trustees see every month.
One page, in plain English, with the numbers you’re judged on next to last year and next to your AI visibility. It shows trends side by side; it doesn’t claim that any one change caused them.
- What moved
- AI answers naming you rose 8 points, led by nursing program questions.
- What likely moved it
- Updated program pages and a corrected tuition figure in two college guides.
- What’s next
- One assistant still lists last year’s application deadline.

FAQ
Questions
Do you work with colleges, schools and nonprofits of different sizes?
Yes. The method is the same; the questions and the numbers change. A college tracks inquiries and applications. A nonprofit tracks gifts, volunteers or visits.
Do you need access to student or donor data?
No. We work from public information and the totals you choose to share.
Can you change our rankings?
No, and we won’t try. Rankings belong to their publishers. We make sure the facts AI repeats about you are current and accurate.
We buy with public or grant funds. Can that work?
Yes. If your budget doesn’t fund the plan, you can end it at the end of the funded period with no penalty. A W-9, sample agreement and scope document are available on request.
What does it cost?
The snapshot is free. The two-week audit is $6,500, and monthly plans start at $3,000. Universities and multi-campus systems are scoped after a conversation.
