MenoMap for clinicians
MenoMapA patient may have sent you this page, or brought you a one-page summary made with MenoMap. Here's what it is, what it contains and how to read it.
What MenoMap is
MenoMap is an iPhone and Apple Watch app for people in perimenopause and menopause. They log each hot flash or night sweat with one tap as it happens, answer a 30-second evening check-in on sleep, mood and energy, and record their medications with start dates. Before an appointment, the app turns the last 30 or 90 days into a one-page PDF.
MenoMap calls one hot flash or night sweat a "surge".
What the notes contain

Download a sample PDF (demo data)
- Surges: hot flashes and night sweats per day, typical length, time of day (with the share between 9 PM and 7 AM), and average strength, self-rated from 1 (mild) to 5 (intense)
- Heat calendar: surges × strength for each day in the period
- Evening check-ins: averages on 0–10 scales (sleep, mood, energy and any others the patient tracks), with the number of days answered
- Apple Health, where the patient connected it and always labeled as such: sleep, other recorded symptoms and any bleeding after menopause recorded in Health
- Stage: as reported by the patient
- Medications: entered by the patient, with start and stop dates and doses marked taken or skipped
- Patterns: comparisons within the patient's own entries (for example nights after evenings with alcohol), labeled as coincidence checks, not causes
- The patient's questions for this appointment
The patient chooses the period, the paper size (A4 or Letter) and the language: the notes can be created in any of MenoMap's 34 languages, so they can bring them in yours.
How to read them
- Everything is self-reported by the patient, except items labeled as coming from Apple Health.
- Coverage is shown: "logged on N of M days". Days without entries aren't days without symptoms.
- Strength is the patient's own rating, not a validated severity score.
- Patterns are coincidence checks within one person's data, not evidence of cause.
- The notes are not a diagnosis and not a complete medical record.
What MenoMap won't do
MenoMap never suggests starting, stopping or changing a medicine, and never tells a patient which stage they're in. When a patient logs bleeding after menopause, heart symptoms or other warning signs, the app tells them to seek care, and urgently where needed. The in-app articles are general education, checked against NHS and The Menopause Society guidance.
Privacy
The patient's data stays on their iPhone. There's no account and no cloud, and nothing is sent to you or to us unless the patient shares it themselves. See the MenoMap Privacy Policy.
For your practice: clinic codes
If you'd like to suggest MenoMap to patients, we can create a code for your practice. Patients who redeem it get 1 month of MenoMap Pro free (for new subscribers), which includes the clinician notes. There's no cost to your practice, and we never learn who used a code, only how many times it was redeemed.
MenoMap is available now on the App Store for iPhone (iOS 18 or later), with an optional Apple Watch app.
- Email support@gwlabs.app with your practice name to request a code.
- Print the patient handout (US Letter) and write your code in the box.
- Patients redeem it in MenoMap › You › Redeem a clinic or friend code.
MenoMap is made by GW Labs, an independent iOS studio. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by any health service or professional body. Questions or feedback from clinicians are very welcome: support@gwlabs.app
