Privacy Policy — WishLock
The short version
- WishLock has no account and no login. Everything you create — your wish, your end-state sentence, your scene, the lines you write, your proof entries and photos — is stored only on your iPhone. We never receive it.
- The free version of WishLock shows ads from Google AdMob. Ads are non-personalized, never appear inside a practice session, and are never chosen from anything you write. WishLock never asks for permission to track you.
- WishLock Pro removes ads completely. For Pro users the ad software never loads.
- Purchases are processed by Apple and recorded by RevenueCat under a random, anonymous ID so Pro can be restored.
Information stored on your device
Your wish, end-state, scene, written lines, night sessions, proof entries, photos you attach, reminders and settings are stored in WishLock's private storage on your device. Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets receive only your Lock Screen line, your streak, your score and which session is due. This data is not transmitted to us and is not backed up to any account we control. Deleting all data in the app (Wish › Privacy › Delete all data) or deleting the app removes it, subject to device backups you control through Apple (such as iCloud Backup), which are governed by Apple's terms.
Share cards
When you tap Share, WishLock draws an image on your device (for example "Day 12 of 33 sealed" or your Stats run). These images contain numbers, ranks and dates only — never your wish, your sentence, your scene or your proof. The image goes only where you send it with the iOS share sheet.
Advertising (free version only)
The free version of WishLock uses Google AdMob, operated by Google LLC, to show ads on a few screens (never inside the morning, afternoon or night sessions, onboarding, the paywall or the editors), a full-screen ad at most a couple of times a day after a writing session, and an optional video you can choose to watch to save your streak.
- WishLock requests non-personalized ads only and does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission, so your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) is not available to Google.
- To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google's software may collect: your approximate location derived from your IP address, a device identifier for this app vendor (IDFV), information about the ads you see and tap, basic app interactions (such as app launches and taps), and diagnostic information (crash and performance data).
- WishLock sends Google nothing about your wish, your practice or your proof.
- If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, WishLock asks for your consent through Google's consent form before any ad is requested. You can change your choice at any time in Wish › Privacy › Ad privacy choices.
- Google's use of this data is governed by Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
- WishLock Pro turns ads off completely; for Pro users the ad SDK is not started.
Purchases and subscriptions
WishLock offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions (weekly, monthly, yearly) and a one-time lifetime purchase.
- Apple / App Store processes all payments and manages billing and renewals. We never see your payment details. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; manage or cancel them in your Apple Account settings.
- RevenueCat, our subscription-management provider, receives a randomly generated, anonymous app-user identifier and purchase data (which product, its status) so your purchase can be verified and restored. This identifier is not your name, email or Apple ID. RevenueCat's processing is governed by RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Data we "collect" (App Store privacy disclosure)
- Data linked to you (free version, through Google AdMob): coarse location, device identifier, product interaction, advertising data — used for third-party advertising, advertising measurement and analytics.
- Data not linked to you: an anonymous user ID and purchase history (RevenueCat, to manage your purchase), and diagnostics (crash and performance data from the ad SDK).
- Data used to track you: none.
- We do not collect your contact info, your in-app content, your precise location, your contacts, your health data or your browsing history.
Children's privacy
WishLock is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices and rights
- View, edit or delete your content in the app, or remove everything with Delete all data.
- Change your ad consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland) in Wish › Privacy › Ad privacy choices.
- Remove ads with WishLock Pro.
- Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings.
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA) you may have additional rights. Because your content stays on your device, most requests can be fulfilled directly in the app; for anything involving purchase records or ads, contact us below.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will revise the effective date above.
