Privacy Policy — PuffFree

• Everything you record in PuffFree — quit date, cravings, journal, check-ins, progress — is stored only on your device. We never receive it.
• There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking. Versions before 2.0.3 have no third-party analytics; from version 2.0.3, PuffFree sends the anonymous usage statistics described in “Anonymous usage statistics” below, which you can switch off in Settings.
• Apart from what “Anonymous usage statistics” describes (from version 2.0.3), the only data that leaves your device is the minimum needed to process an optional purchase, and — if you choose to connect it — nothing from Apple Health ever does.

Your quit profile, craving logs, journal entries, daily check-ins, gamification progress, and settings live in local storage on your device. Deleting the app deletes this data (subject to device backups you control through Apple). You can also export or import your own data as a file from Settings; that file is created on your device and shared only where you send it.

PuffFree Pro can optionally read three measurements from the Health app on your device: resting heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), and blood oxygen. We use them for one purpose: to show you, inside the app, how your averages from the 7 days before your quit date compare with the last 7 days.

• Reading is optional and happens only after you grant permission in the Health app. You can revoke it at any time in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.
• Health data is read-only. PuffFree never writes to Health.
• Health data never leaves your device. It is not stored on our servers, not shared with any third party (including RevenueCat), and never used for advertising, marketing, or any purpose other than displaying the comparison to you.
• The comparison is informational and is not medical advice.

PuffFree offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions and a one-time lifetime purchase. Apple processes all payments; we never see your payment details. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and can be managed in your Apple Account settings. To validate purchases across reinstalls, our subscription-management provider RevenueCat receives a randomly generated anonymous identifier and purchase/transaction data. This identifier is not your name, email, or Apple ID, is used only to deliver the purchase functionality, and is never used for advertising or sold. See RevenueCat's privacy policy. From version 2.0.3, PuffFree sends anonymous usage statistics to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service that doesn't store IP addresses and receives only a one-way hashed identifier created on your device. The statistics are short, fixed labels for what happened in the app, for example:

• which onboarding screen was shown, and when onboarding finished
• when an upgrade screen was shown or closed, and which part of the app opened it
• when a purchase or free trial was started, completed, cancelled or failed (with the store's error code), and the result of restoring purchases
• whether notifications were allowed
• that the app's main action was used (that it happened, not what it was)
• when a trial reminder card or rating prompt was shown
• short codes for errors the app ran into

They never include your quit dates, cravings, journal entries or check-ins, anything else you type or log, photos, names, dates you entered, Apple Health data, your location or time zone, or your RevenueCat ID. They are never linked to your name, email address or Apple ID.

Apple Ads: from version 2.0.3, if you installed PuffFree after tapping an Apple Search Ads ad, RevenueCat receives Apple's anonymous attribution token, so we can see which ad keyword led to a trial or purchase. Apple provides it without tracking you, and no tracking prompt is needed.

We use these statistics only to improve PuffFree. They are never used for advertising, never sold and never used to track you across other apps or websites.

Turning it off: in PuffFree's Settings, switch off "Share anonymous usage stats". PuffFree then stops sending statistics, and purchases keep working.

• Product Interaction and Other Diagnostic Data (from version 2.0.3) — Analytics (the anonymous usage statistics above). Not linked to your identity; not used for tracking.

PuffFree is a self-help tool, not a medical device, and is not a substitute for professional diagnosis, treatment, or emergency care. Its health-recovery timeline reflects widely published smoking-cessation guidance (CDC, NHS, WHO) and individual results vary. PuffFree is not directed to children under 13 and collects no personal information from any user, including minors.

Because your content lives on your device, you control it: view, edit, or delete it in the app; remove everything by deleting the app; manage subscriptions in your Apple Account. For rights requests involving purchase records (GDPR/CCPA), contact us below.

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date.
